Dr. Michel Sussman, the doctor who delivered the twins of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, told reporters that the couple “were talking, they were together,” during the c-section.

“It was an epidural, so [Angelina} was awake and speaking and laughing. They were happy,” he says.

The doctor even referred to papa Pitt as his “assistant,” and said he cut the babies’ umbilical cords.

“He was…perfectly calm, totally determined, very pleased to be at the birth of his children, very moved and very emotional,” he says of Pitt.

Jolie delivered fraternal twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon on Saturday in Nice, France.

As far as when Jolie will leave the hospital, the doctor said he did not know at this point. “She will stay for a few days. You know, in Europe it isn’t like in the United States, where the patients go home after three days. They will stay a bit longer until everything is okay.”

According to internet reports it seems that Angelina may have been hospitalized because of a condition called twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.  This occurs when one twin gets more nutrients from the placenta and grows at a faster rate than the other twin.

This problem can lead to several scenarios including the bigger twin being too big, and the smaller twin having serious medical problems and even facing death because they are not getting enough nutrients.  Often this leads to an early induction, or if it is too early or the smaller twin starts failing quickly, an emergency c-section.

According to some internet sources Angie is being closely monitored and is closely watching the machines herself in order to keep a close eye on the health of her twins.

Boy, J-Lo’s twins are already world travelers!  The proud parents have not only been spotted in Spain, but now they have been seen, toting the tots, in Italy as well!  Over the weekend the proud parents took their children and did some vacationing in Italy, actually giving the photographers that laid in wait a photo opportunity.

The twins who are almost six months old seemed to be enjoying the Italian sunshine, after all, they aren’t let out that much!  Jennifer and her husband Marc Anthony have simply been enjoying their time as new parents and have only recently been seen getting out since the birth of the babies.  We can only assume that for the most part all four of them have been staying quietly indoors.

Well if you are going to be stuck in a hospital for weeks while you await the birth of your twins, this is definitely the hospital you would want to be stuck in.  According to our sources, these are the photos not only of the outside of the hospital that Angelina is cooped up in, but also the view from her room.  Will someone get me pregnant and ship me off to France on bedrest please?

At a press conference in the South of France today, Angelina Jolie’s obstetrician Dr. Michel Sussman told reporters that the actress has been admitted but is doing well.

“Everything is normal. She is very well, and she’s okay…Brad and Angelina want everyone to know that everything is going well,” she says.

Pregnant with twins, the babies will be the 5th and 6th children for Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Dr. Sussmann goes on to say that the babies will arrive “in the weeks to come.”

“It is simply a visit of surveillance, no birth. She will stay in the hospital until the birth. I will stay with her,” the doctor says.

When asked about her specific due date, the doctor replied, “This is something you can’t program, you never know.”

Angelina’s due date had been rumored as August 15.

Rumor has it Angelina Jolie has been admitted to a hospital in France as labor begins.  According to the Reuters news group Angelina was admitted to the Lenval Hospital in Nice and a source at the hospital has been quoted to say that Angelina is “doing fine”.

With previous false reports from Entertainment Tonight that the twins had arrived you cannot help but be sceptical and wonder if this time it is true and if we will soon be seeing pictures of Shiloh’s twin siblings, or if the family is really still relaxing at their home awaiting the day that the babies are due.  Hopefully coming from this source we can place bets that the twins will be able to celebrate the 4th of July this year with their parents in style.

Although the French media has reported that Angelina Jolie has already delivered her twins, the actress has dismissed that rumor and is reportedly telling friends she would like to give birth to her babies naturally.

“She prepared for a natural child birth for Shiloh and was very disappointed when her doctors told her she would have to undergo a Cesarean section,” a source tells OK! magazine. “She is praying everything will go her way and she will be able to enjoy a natural birth.”

Jolie, 32, and her boyfriend Brad Pitt, along with their 4 kids, are living in France at Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s mansion in St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat until the birth of her twin girls. “Whether Angelina experiences natural childbirth or has a scheduled C-section, she will not go to full term with the twins. She’s been told to expect the babies early, and that was the reason she and Brad went early to France — so they would be ready for their babies whenever they decide to make their appearance,” the source says.

With her mid-August due date approaching, sources report that she has a midwife and 2 French nurses living with them. They have reserved a private birthing room at Le Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace in Monaco.

Angelina Jolie, who recently confirmed she is expecting twins, told reporters that she will probably give birth in France. “I actually haven’t completely decided. We are certainly thinking of France.”

She said that French is “a second language in the house, although I’m still earning and am not gong to attempt any of it here today. My children are starting to speak French, so being here is very good for them and their language.”

She also told a Swedish reporter that she and her main man, Brad Pitt, would consider having more babies. “Not at this time…but, you never know, there’s more babies. Who knows?” Jolie and Pitt are already parent to 4 children, and the arrival of the twins in August will bring the grand total to six.

“All my children are from all different parts of the world, and especially my boys,” she says. “We do have a teacher who teaches them Cambodian and Vietnamese in our house, and they know their flags and they know their music and they know quite a lot about their culture and [Brad and I] bring in as much as we can and we’ll continue to as they get older.”

Angelina Jolie has confirmed what we all suspected: She is carrying twins! The news was confirmed during an interview in Cannes with the Today’s show Natalie Morales (who, by the way, is also pregnant).

Jolie was being interviewed with her Kung Fu Panda co-star, Jack Black, who said, “You’re gonna have as many as the ‘Brady Brunch’ when you have these.”

Morales asked, “It’s confirmed? Is it two?”

“Yeah, yeah, we’ve confirmed that already,” Jolie said. “Well, Jack’s just confirmed it actually.”

What are the sex of the babies? “We would like to keep that private,” Jolie says. When asked if she would deliver in France, as rumored, Jolie replied, “Possibly.”

The twin babies will make number 5 and 6 for Jolie and Brad Pitt.

It looks like the number 2 is lucky for Numb3rs actress Diane Farr, as People.com is reporting she is pregnant with twins.

Far, 38, and her marketing executive husband Seung Yong Chung also have a son together, 1-year-old Beckett Mancuso. No word yet on the sex of the twins or the due date.

The actress reportedly will leave Numb3rs at the end of the season to “spend the next year preparing for her twins.” She also plans on working on a new series with the writer of the HBO series Rescue Me.
