Today anchor Natalie Morales pregnant
It looks like Today show correspondent Giada De Larentiis won’t be the only one on the show sporting a baby bump. Fellow anchor Natalie Morales, 35, announced she is expecting her second child with her husband, Joe Rhodes.
“We’re really excited! It’s truly a blessing,” she gushes. Morales (pictured, left, with Katie Couric) is 12 weeks along, making her due date September 16th. “We had been trying for a long time…Most people think you can just decide to have a child, but it just doesn’t work that way,” she says.
What does her 4-year-old son, Josh, think about having a sibling? “He’s excited to be a big brother. He says he’ll share all his toys…he says that now!”
Morales suspected she was pregnant when she started craving cheeseburgers and oranges—the same food she craved when she was pregnant with Josh. “How amazing that your body knows what it has to do! We are so perfect in that way. We are so made to have children,” she says.
The morning anchor has luckily escaped “morning sickness,” but does feel nauseous at night and has felt much more tired.
Even though Morales won’t be covering the fall political conventions or the Olympics, she is looking forward to one particular segment: “I’m inspired to do all the getting-fit-after-the-baby segments!”
