Tiger fathers his cub
The sting of finishing 2nd place in the U.S. Open on Sunday was hopefully cut short today as Tiger Woods announces he is a father.
Tiger, 31, and his wife Elin Nordegren welcomed a daughter named Sam Alexis on Monday, July 18th.Â
On his website, Tiger makes this statement:
“Both Elin and Sam are doing well and resting peacefully. We want to thank our doctors and the hospital staff for all their dedicated and hard work. This is truly a special time in our lives and we look forward to introducing Sam to our family and friends over the next few weeks. We thank everyone for their well wishes and continued respect of our privacy.”
Married for 2 years, this is the first child for the golf superstar and his Swedish wife. Lucky for Tiger, little Sam made her appearance a couple of weeks early freeing Tiger up for the British Open in July.
