US Weekly reports that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt planned the birthday celebration at their rental in Prague where Jolie is shooting a movie.

A worker at the local balloon shop in Prague tells US: “They told me they needed 50 balloons for Saturday and Sunday. An assortment of colors.” She also reports they delivered cookies and a cake.

Jolie had to film that morning, but was home by 2 p.m. for the birthday celebration. No word who else attended the shin-dig besides Papa Pitt and siblings Zahara, 2, Pax, 3, and Maddox, 5.

“It’s going to be a challenge. I guess that late at night, I’m not so much scared as thinking of it as a huge unknown. I want to prepare for it the way I do everything else in my life. I make lists. I make plans. But being a father is different. I think that people go into it and find out, holy s—, I have no control.”

Angelina Jolie showed off more than arm candy (Brad Pitt) as she walked the red carpet in Cannes–the new ink on her left arm.

In keeping with her tradition of tattooing the map coordinates of her children, Pax’s Vietnam digits sit below 5-year-old Maddox (Cambodia), 2-year-old Zahara (Ethiopia), and her biological child, 1-year-old Shiloh (Namibian).

Julianne Nicholson, also known as Detective Megan Wheeler on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, is expecting a child with her husband, Six Degrees actor Jonathan Cake, reports NBC.

Due in September, this is the first child for Nicholson, 35, and Cake, 39.

Ashleigh Banfield, the former NBC News anchor with the cute, distinctive eyeglasses, welcomed a baby boy with her husband Howard Gould on May 21st.

Ridley Banfield Gould was born in New York weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces. “Mother and baby are doing fine,” a rep tells Us Weekly.

This is the second son for Banfield, 39, and her husband of 3 years. Jay Fischer is 19-months-old.

The Emmy nominated correspondent has been busy with Court TV News and has just signed on to host a celebrity entertainment show “Hollywood Heat.”
 

Country singer Martina McBride talks to Family Circle magazine about how she strives to not spoil her kids, and the importance of sneaking in some “me time.” McBride, 40, has three daughters Delaney, 12, Emma, 9, and Ava, 2.

I keep my kids from getting spoiled by…”not giving them everything they want. Aside from books and art supplies, the older girls have to buy stuff with the money they earn doing little jobs around the house. My husband, John, and I aren’t materialistic–I drive a ‘92 Honda–so the girls still get excited when we stay in a nice hotel room or eat at a great restaurant.”

I sneak in “me time” when…Delaney and Emma get home from school. They’ll watch Ava while I lie down for a 20-minute nap. I take a bubble bath and read after the kids are in bed. It’s important to relax and recharge so you have energy and a positive attitude to give everyone else.
