Angelina adopts 3-year-old boy

pax.jpgAngelina Jolie has officially expanded her brood to include a 3-year-old Vietnamese boy named Pax Thien Jolie.

Jolie’s son, 5-year-old Maddox (who was adopted from Cambodia) accompanied the actress to Vietnam to pick up Pax. I’m sure Jolie knew that Maddox’s presence might be comforting to Pax. Brad Pitt’s noticeable absence was addressed by Trevor Neilson, Jolie’s adviser on international affairs. “Brad very much wanted to be there but is under contract working on a film in Los Angeles ans as a result couldn’t go,” he tells People.

Pax had been living at the orphanage outside of Ho Chi Minh City ever since he was abandoned as a baby. The orphanage director describes him as “shy,” but that gets along well with other children and loves soccer. “He is in good health.”

Pax will have plenty of play mates in the Jolie-Pitt household. Besides Maddox, he will be welcomed home by 2-year-old Zahara and 10-month-old Shiloh. I suspect another adoption will happen in the near future. Jolie recently told Good Morning America that it was a good idea to “balance the races so there’s another African person in the house for Z [and] another Asian person in the house for Mad.”

Just Jared has posted some pictures of Pax. Click here to check them out.
