‘Bridget Jones’s’ Helen Fielding pregnant at age 48
Quirky author of Bridget Jones’s Diary, Helen Fielding, is joining the baby brigade for the second time at age 48. Fielding is joining a long list of 40-plus celebrities, such as Gina Davis and Madonna, who are defying age and conquering new-parenthood.
Renee Zellweger starred in the 2001 movie version of Bridget Jones’ Diary. She famously gained (and then quickly lost) about 30 pounds for the role earning her an Oscar nod. She reprised her role (and re-gained the weight) in 2004 for the sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
The British author and her partner, The Simpsons executive producer and writer Kevin Curran, have a 2-year-old son with the (very English-sounding) name of Dashiell. Fielding, who tells the Independent that she is “thrilled” to be pregnant, is due in July.
