Penny Lancaster talks about Rod
It seems like rock legend Rod Stewart has been showing us his softer side lately. The 61-year-old recently made a guest appearance on American Idol in which he was seen laughing and singing with contestants, as well as bouncing his 6-month old baby, Alastair, on his knee. Sure, his fiancee is 35-year old model Penny Lancaster, but she is refreshingly curvy–not the stick-thin “new mom” celebrities we are used to seeing.
“Rod much prefers it this way, rather than when I’m really skinny” she tells the Mirror, “He said that if I don’t want to lose one more pound, that’s fine with him. He loves it.” Lancaster says she has been slowly losing weight (she is currently a size 14) through light exercise and healthy eating, however wisely does not want to lose her weight too quickly saying, “The most important thing is breastfeeding Alastair and staying healthy for him.”
Lancaster gets annoyed at the pressure that is put on new moms to regain their figure lightning fast. She recalls a picture that was taken 2 weeks after having her baby in which the cover read that she had lost all her weight. “I thought what are you talking about? I was wearing support tights and a black maternity dress that was very forgiving–the picture was just a fluke,” she admits.
Alastair is Lancaster’s first child; however Stewart has 5 children from his previous relationships. If he had it is way, they will soon be making it child number 7. Lancaster reveals that written on her Mother’s Day card, the raspy-voiced singer wrote, “PS, let’s make number two now.”Â
