Sharon Stone flies first-class, son sits coach

Actress Sharon Stone played her diva card last week on a flight from New York to Los Angeles. She sat in first class, while her 9-month-old son Laird sat with his nanny in coach.

A spokesperson tells the New York Post, “First class was sold out. She tried to get them seats in first class but couldn’t, and she didn’t want them on a separate plane.”

Well, was it totally out of the question for her to sit in coach with them? Maybe she needed the extra leg room to ponder the dismal opening weekend of her highly-hyped movie, Basic Instinct 2, which grossed only $3.2 million against Ice Age 2’s $72 million.

Stone, possibly feeling a little guilty, did adventure back to coach to tell her nanny that — for safety reasons — she needed to keep her son in his seat even if he cried. Which, of course he did… and his nanny apparently did as told. So luckily, the actress didn’t hear a thing.

Maybe I am being a little hard on Sharon. After all, it was not like she didn’t try to get them in first class. (I never even try to get my kid in first class!)

Stone adopted her oldest son, Roan, 5, with her ex-husband Phil Bronstein. Laird — bound to one day be called “Lard” by his peers — was adopted after their divorce in 2005.
