Maternity style: Dress like your favorite starlet!
I don’t know if you have noticed, but having a baby bump is the “new black.” What better place then Hollywood is there to find your very own style muse to help dress up your bump?
If Bohemian chic is your thing, then your star soulmate-in-fashion is actress Gwyneth Paltrow. She favors clothes that are light, flowing and very feminine. US Weekly reports the Proof star loves Juicy Couture, including their empire waist dresses ($298) and cotton floral camis ($98). If you want to emulate her look for less, check out Target’s Liz Lange Maternity line. They have some adorable tops, very “Gwynnie-like,” with a flowered sash for only $18!
If you like trendy, funky clothes, then our fave “Hollaback Girl” Gwen Stefani is your gal! The No Doubt star has been seen wearing pieces from her own L.A.M.B. collection, including long flowing dresses with bold prints that are cinched to accentuate her growing belly. Gwen is also a fan of the funky prints on Diane von Furstenberg’s “famous” wrap dresses and blouses (bellydancematernity.com). Check out the Nom tanks with the hip prints (shown at right) for $47. I think Gwen would love these!
If you are a hip, jet-setting gal then Angelina Jolie is your one to watch. Jolie (soon to be Mrs. Jolie-Pitt?) likes to wear black, black and more black! The Mr & Mrs Smith star is not afraid to wear form-fitting tanks to accentuate and show off her burgeoning belly. US Weekly reports that she also loves the coats from Cadeau Maternity. To copy her style for less, buy non-maternity tanks (Check out Old Navy) a size bigger and pair that with some cool jeans. If your stomach hangs out a little — even better.
