Drew Lachey & wife welcome a baby girl
Dancing with the Stars winner Drew Lachey is a proud papa of Isabella Claire Lachey. Little Claire was born in Los Angeles on Thursday weighing a healthy 7 pounds, 2 ounces. “Mom, Dad and baby are all happy and healthy,” a representative tells People.
This is the first child for the former 98 degrees singer and his wife Lea, both 29. The singer/dancer has kept a low profile compared to his brother, Nick Lachey (of the couple-formally-known-as-Nick & Jessica). Winning Dancing with the Stars has put Lachey into the spotlight, and he credits his wife, a former dancer and choreographer for his success on the show saying that she, “helped me with my posture, my feet.”
Dancing partner Cheryl Burke knows he has dancing skills, but what does she think of his parenting skills? “He’s going to be a great father. He will not spoil his child, that’s for sure. But he’s so loving and he’s going to love his baby like no other,” she tells People.
Lachey says he is looking forward to dancing with his daughter, “In a couple of years my daughter will be cutting a rug around me. I’ll hold her hands and she’ll be dancing on my feet. I’m looking forward to that.” In the meantime, catch Lachey hosting the Miss USA pageant in April with Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell.
