Russell Crowe:
Forget Barbara Walters, Jay Leno is the one that is getting the celebrities to tell all. First it was Alias star Jennifer Garner who let it slip that she and actor Ben Affleck were having a girl — and now Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe is dishing the details. “Just for you,” he tells Leno on Friday’s The Tonight Show, “Charlie is going to have a brother.”
Charlie, the 2-year old son of Crowe, 41, and wife Danielle Spencer, 34, apparently had some suggestions as to what baby Crowe’s name should be. The Gladiator star said that Charlie originally liked the name “pumpkinhead,” but decided the next day he liked “stinky” better. Hmmm… Stinky Crowe. Why not? Celebrities have decided on worse names than that!
Speaking of names, there was a bit of superstition surrounding Charlie’s name. According to contactmusic.com, his wife Danielle chose the name for their first-born, however Crowe felt the name carried a bit of bad luck with it. He had said that the two Charlie Crowes in his family had both died rather traumatic deaths at a young age. Danielle, on the other hand, loved the name, having an Uncle Charlie who lived a great life well into his nineties. Obviously, Russell put his fears aside and let the bad luck end with the newest Charlie Crowe.
Married in 2003, Russell and Danielle are expecting their second baby boy in July or August.
